Part 2 of the Addiction Awareness Series

Tuesday April 4th, 2017

6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Kubuski Gymnasium at

Midview High School

(Babysitting will be available in the APR)

Topics will include:

  • Terri Gibbons, mother of a Midview High School graduate that is an addict

  • Joint presentation by Chief Duane Whitley, Elyria Police Department and Detective Gregg Mehling, Lorain County Sheriff Office, with assistance from the Lorain County Drug Task Force.

  • Video created by Elyria High School students on the Opioid Epidemic

  • Types of Drugs and what to look for

  • What are the signs that my child is abusing

  • What is law enforcement doing to stop this problem

  • Dr. Stephen Evans, Lorain County Coroner, statistics in Lorain County.

  • MHS Student Code of Conduct in regards to Chemical Abuse Policy

  • Dan Haight, The LCADA Way, on treatment and recovery resources in Lorain County and surrounding areas

  • Question and Answer session to the Panel of Presenters

  • Resource Tables from multiple agencies across Lorain County

Grafton Midview Public Library Partnership with Great Lakes Theater
The Grafton-Midview Public Library and The Great Lakes Theater will be presenting a special performance based on Lewis Carroll's poem.Two students - Dodgson and Steve - band together after being bullied by classmates. To avoid their tormentors, the students follow a secret map and escape to the Tulgey Wood - where they meet a king who begs them to save his people from the fearsome Jabberwocky! Meet colorful characters like Cheshire Cat, JubJub Bird, Bandersnatch, and a family of Momeraths as this unlikely but dynamic duo journeys to save a kingdom, and learn to face their fears back home.
